Well for anyone who cares what direction I went with this, I decided to treat Kraken as an entirely new project.

So I have a potentially interesting scenario coming up here. I'm the lead developer of the IM Gateway plugin for Openfire. That's an established project that's been around for a number of years now. ... [More] That said, I have now "moved" the project to sourceforge, called it Kraken, and it has some slightly different goals. (basically to retain exactly what it was before, except now also work with other XMPP servers) Now the project "belongs to me" and I'm flat out moving it to SourceForge with the new name. So the IM Gateway plugin as it stands currently is going to be no more once I released the first version of Kraken. So here is my dilemma. I could simply rename the ohloh project IM Gateway plugin to Kraken and make it look at the old repository, and the new repository. Basically keep it together as one project with a long history, etc etc. OR I could create a new project ofr Kraken and keep the two separate. What would -you- do in this scenario? =) What would be most proper? [Less]

So far the ads seem very unintrusive. As far as I'm concerned, without destroying the design or "overdoing it", if it helps you all keep this service alive, go for it! You might be able to fit some ... [More] "nicely" down the right side of the forum screens. And on the programming language statistics pages there's a big block with nothing in it. I generally think google ads do a good job of providing context sensitive ad choices so in general they're almost kinda handy to have there. [Less]

Aha, I think I understand what's happening here. The Primary language is not the -projects- primary language on this display, it's the primary language of what YOU contributed to the project. So in ... [More] my case, at the time I had primarily contributed shell script coding to one project and that's what it showed, even though the project itself is definitely mostly java. Likewise, my other project that I was having 'issues' with, by the time I moved it to it's current repository, I was primarily doing shell script coding to it, so it only picked that up not my c code work really. I just wanted to followup in case others were wondering. [Less]

Hrm, I could see modauthkerb having the autoconf issue, but Openfire doesn't have anything like that. It's got a copy of init scripts but it's by far java. The details indicate 69% java (which it's ... [More] more than that but no problem there) and the description on the front page says "mostly written in java" =) shell script is labeled as <1%. kind of bizarre! =) [Less]

Hi folk! There are two projects I am (or in one case, was) involved in that are indicating that their primary language is shell script when it's really c code or java. Openfire is most definitely ... [More] java but it's listed as shell script. Likewise, "Kerberos Module For Apache" (modauthkerb) is listed as shell script and is definitely primarily c code. What's making ohloh think they are primarily shell scripts? [Less]
