Howdy, Good question! The acquisition has much to do my absence, but in the opposite way than you speculate. I am now managing the software engineering teams for sourcegforge.net, ohloh & ... [More] slashdot. I've been ramping up on the job: meeting the team, learning the process & technologies. An important part of my work is also to think of where all these websites should be going. I'm happy to share my thoughts on this - but I don't want to bore you ;-). In short: I apologize for my absence. I plan to open a more direct communication channel soon. I'll make an announcement here when I do. Meanwhile, if you (or anyone) would like to chat about where SourceForge should be heading - or perhaps even interested in joining our team, email/jabber me at jason@corp.sourceforge.com. [Less]

Thanks for the encouragement! @dmondark: There are no plans to 'commercialize' ohloh at the moment. The goal is to use Ohloh's code/people metrics to improve SourceForge - not to plaster ads all over ... [More] Ohloh. @Teddy: I know where you're coming from - I frankly had some doubts myself. After meeting the people behind SF, I'm convinced they mean good. Yes, they'll continue chasing a profit - but they also know that their future depends on providing a competitive service. I aim to be as transparent as possible during my transition to becoming a "SourceForger" - that means the good and bad. I'd love to hear any specific fears/concerns (from anyone). Got questions? Greeting y'all. Sorry about the delay. Your suspicions were correct: the fix I had applied originally got reverted by a subsequent commit - so the "bad css" behavior returned. I've re-applied the ... [More] original fix and thereby fixed the offending, globally-scoped css rules. Thanks for your patience! [Less]

Hi bobjuice, The ohloh forums are for 'ohloh'-related topics. I think you'll have better luck posting in the phpBB Forums. Good luck!

Great observation. We're just as stumped here at Ohloh. We're not currently aware of any change in our crawling/analytics that would cause this. The economic impact theory seems plausible - however we ... [More] should investigate our data deeper to make sure it's not a problem our end. We'll try to get to the bottom of it this week. [Less]
