A vessel positioning system based on AIS (Automatic Information System, VHF based) data received by a few antennas along the German coasts. Written in C++/PHP, stores data in a MySQL database - The data is plotted to Google Earth/Maps and accessible via a web interface. Unfortunately closed source.
