The InstrumentElement project is looking for new ideas! The aim of the project is to create a tool for the integration between devices (such as sensor and probe) into the classical computation infrastructure like Cloud and Grid computing. Moreover it is providing WEB APIs for controlling and monitoring a generic device. The present release is focused on Web Services using Axis1.4 but different technologies will be explored (REST, Axis2 etc etc)
This project is started in august as a simplification of part of the code that has been developed for the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) Experiment that is now operating at CERN and the first stable release has been produced. The key ideas that are into this release are: - Allowing remote monitor and control of a generic device using Web Service APIs. - Provide a semifinal artifact that, used as a skeleton, can simplify and homogenize the construction of a final solution.
We are now starting to think about a roadmap that should lead to the next release so we are looking for cool advices and ideas!
You can learn more at the project web page: http://instrumentelem.sourceforge.net/ and, if you have any question, you can find my contacts at the following page: http://www.inf.unisi.ch/postdoc/lelli/
Any help will be greatly appreciated! I wish you an enjoyable open source experience, Francesco
