there should be a way to mark forum posts as spam. spammers should be permanently banned. there should not be a way to create an account without an invitation.

I think invitation is a bit too much for spam preventive measures.

A simple math captcha would prevent like 99% of spam. Granted, I implemented this on a wiki of mine and never have a link spam come through to the best of my knowledge.

automated account creation should be prevented - whether by requiring an invitation, captcha, or a manual approval.
