As you noticed in FAQ number of commits has effect in Kudo rank but some times there is so much commits but few changed lines, may be it is better to use Number of changed lines instead of number of commits?
I see your point. It's our opinion, however, that, in the long run, the commit count is a better indicator of work done than LOC. Yes - some commits get "under-represented" (if there's tons of LOC) or "over-represented" (if there are almost no LOC) - but they should even out in the fullness of time.
