As part of the last fabrikar.com site redesign we created an article slider widget for our Joomla homepage. In this blog post I'm going to go over how I created this.

My aim was to use Joomla's front page layout as the basis for the content ... [More] and use Joomla's template override features to alter the mark up and add javascript to produce the slider features.

There's been quiet a buzz in the forums recently about combining the flexibilty of Fabrik into Joomla's article system. That, combined with the release of Joomla works K2, and Yootheme's zoo have relaunched the debate about creating customizable content in Joomla.

Fabrik 2.0rc2 has now been released and is available in the downloads section

The main reason for this release is to address an issue with installation on Joomla 1.5.10. If you are using Joomla 1.5.10 then we strongly recommend you update to this version.

Welcome to the new fabrikar.com site!

We have finally migrated from Joomla 1.0.x to Joomla 1.5.10 and have updated the components we use to in the site. So a big thanks to to the following components:

AEC Subscription ... [More] component

Docman - file management

JFusion - sync between Joomla and Vbulletin

Oh and we've used a smattering of Fabrik here and there!

We have a new WIKI, which is separate to the main site, so of the old wiki content still needs to be moved over, we will be working on that as and when we can. This requires a separate account to log into (no medai wiki adaptor available fo JFusion at this date)

Please contact us if you have any queries regarding your account on the new site
