A very useful platform for explorers

If you want to run the typical market analyses described in the retail books, and are OK to be limited by the generic analysis tools and approaches, then you'd be better served to buy a commercial application - it's probably better value to spend the money!

HOWEVER: If you want to explore off the beaten track, then this is a very useful platform from which to start. Since it's open source you can see exactly what is going on, and you ... [More] can extend it to your heart's content. It contains enough examples of indicators and studies to set you on your way quite quickly - if you're familiar with Java and Netbeans. True, there is little in the way of documentation, but this is still a huge head start to building your own application.

This version is a huge improvement over HumaiTrader and BlogTrader, the previous incarnations.
