    Timesheet Next Gen 1.3.1 Released

We are pleased to announce that at long last Timesheet Next Gen 1.3.1 is ready for download. Whilst a large amount of time and effort has gone into this release, it should still be considered alpha, so not everything may work as expected. We could ... [More] really use your help getting the 1.3 branch stable, so please download, test and report any bugs.

A massive thanks to Tommo for the huge amount of work he has put in, much appreciated!

For more info, see the releases page on the
    Timesheet Next Gen wiki

2009 - the year of Timesheet Next Gen...?

    Hello 2009!

We had a bit of a breather over the Christmas break, but now refreshed and firing on all cylinders. Our top priority is to get the first release out the door within the few days.

We could really use your help testing ... [More] , debugging and documenting. The release will be based on the 1.3.x branch in the SVN (see the downloads page for more info)

Also, we've been adding to the wiki, both user and developer docs, so please check it out and feel free to contribute.

This year is going to be a big year for Timesheet Next Gen as we are going to start recoding a brand new version. Get involved now, and help us make the perfect Timesheet solution for you! [Less]

    New Site Launched

We are please to announce the launching of the new Timesheet Next Gen Website.

Whilst it is a bit bare at the moment, we are confident that over the next few days and weeks, we'll be uploading new content to help you get the most, both out ... [More] of using Timesheet Next Gen, but also developing Timesheet Next Gen.

Also, in conjunction with the new site launch we have moved the bug tracker to it's new home:

    http://bugs.timesheetng.org

and are in the process of moving the wiki to it's new home:

As ever, your thoughts and comments welcome [Less]

Experimental web based install now in SVN

I have just committed a very basic web based installer which should be considered experimental. It is based in r33 of the trunk and I have not tried to fix any bugs within the trunk, but rather concentrate on the installer

I have created a ... [More] new branch in the SVN repository, which you can find at
    https://tsheetx.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/tsheetx/branches/exp_installer

It tries to detect if Timesheet NG is installed, if not, takes user to the installer. If Timesheet NG is installed, but of a lower version, it takes user to an (as yet non-working) upgrade page.

The timesheet.sql.in file is now deprecated, the installation SQL being moved to install/index.php, as is the install.sh file.

To install a clean copy of Timesheet NG, simply checkout this version from SVN into a directory within your web server, navigate in your browser to that directory and you should be automatically redirected to the web based installation. This page will have instructions to proceed.

    Todo:
    1. Get the "Check Database Connection" ajax functionality working
    2. Allow for the creation of the database
    3. Allow for the upgrading from previous versions
    4. Tidy up now unused *.inc.in files [Less]
