Project Summary

Location based services are defined as information systems that are accessible via an mobile network (cellular) that uses the devices ability to give it's geographical position.

This project has as objective to create a platform (with an API) where Location Based Services can be as easily developed as any normal web application.

This platform will deal with the managment of users (using Oauth), locations (using Google maps APIs), web Interfaces (using Django), SMS (using gnokii or similar) and Instant Messaging services (using XMPP).

It will use whenever possible the MVC pattern all along the development as well as REST services and XMPP to link all the modules together.

This is the Bachelor's degree thesis dissertation of Gonzalo Maldonado For the Electronics and Computer science Engineering degree at Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City.
