What is Cairolets?Cairolets is a new desklet system for the Gnome desktop. It is built with the primary aim of using vector based graphics and composite functions to create cool looking desklets. It is written in python using pygtk and cairo.
Project AimsUse vector graphics (cairo and svgs) to create smooth looking desklets Underlying code should be as reusable as possible Look and feel of desklets should be easily modifiable Data retrieval, and display should be separated to allow reuse of components Current FeaturesSo far only one desklet has been implemented using the existing toolkit. This is the digital clock.
This is basically a proof of concept desklet and will later be used to show how to make new desklets.
