This is why one of the things I have done is I have modified collabtive's source code, and made it so that it only generates the image thumbnail once and then have it save the generated thumbnail as a file.
Increasing the memory available to PHP scripts could be one way to fix this. Some web hosts do not allow or offer the ability to change this, I would ask the host about this.
But if you are using a host where you can change this, you could try changing the PHP script memory limit by creating a .htaccess file, and inside including the following code
Code: Select allphp_value memory_limit 64M
Adjust the 64M depending on how much memory is needed.
Another problem you could have is that thumb.php is taking too much time to finish executing, meaning it's taking too long to resize the image. The default PHP setting for max allowed script execution time is 30 seconds.
If you can change this you could in the same .htaccess file also include the following Code: Select allphp_value max_execution_time 200 Change the value of 200 seconds to something higher depending on how much time the script needs to process the image.
Or it is possible that you are having some other problem with thumb.php, in that case I would check the server error logs and see if there is any errors that were logged that are related to this problem. [Less]
