Dear all digiKam fans and users!

A new test cycle has been started to complete 1.0.0 release...

digiKam tarball can be downloaded from SourceForge at this url

digiKam will be also available for Windows. Precompiled packages ... [More] can be downloaded with KDE-Windows installer. See KDE-Windows project for details.

Outstanding work this week was done on:

First visible effect of porting to Qt4 model list view: overlays over image ... [More] thumbnails. When hovering with mouse over "plate" user will see small icons for loss-less rotating of image, rating, selection and probably more in future. Icons are faded in and out with nice looking animation, also rating widget interaction was improved.

Sony makernotes supports : I need pictures to work...

I decided to start soon the implementation of Sony Makernotes support on Exiv2 library.

In fact since Sony acquire Minolta compagny to sold photography devices in 2006, new Sony camera are based on Minolta firmware, and Markernotes from RAW/JPEG files are based on Minolta contents.

New 'auto-correction-mode' for the Free Rotation image plugin

A few weeks ago I added a new feature to the Free-Rotation imageplugin: 'Automatic (Horizon) Correction'.

This is nothing new, Gimp and Photoshop (and for sure other applications) have such a feature, too.
You set two points in the preview widget and hit "Adjust" to rotate the image accordingly to these markers.
