Robert Douglass: Big steps for the Drupal-Initiative, planning sprint report

Edit: I totally had the dates wrong for the Drupal Developer Days in Munich - they’re May 5-7 :P

The Drupal-Initiative e.V. is a German non-profit organization dedicated to driving the growth of Drupal in German speaking countries. ... [More] Yesterday was an important milestone for this group as we had our first ever planning sprint that was open to the public. The sprint was in Essen, in a neat location called the Unperfekthaus (the imperfect house), and we had 17 people from across Germany who came to help us plan, divide the work, take on responsibility, and breathe life into an organization which has until this point been the work of 5-6 individuals.

The history of the Drupal-Initiative starts in mid 2008 when members of the Cologne-Bonn Drupal Users Group decided to host a DrupalCamp in Cologne. We knew that we’d need some structures in place, such as a bank account, a website, and so forth. We also had our eyes on a bid to host the international DrupalCon in Germany at some point, so we thought that building a strong, formal entity, such as a non-profit organization, was the best way to achieve these goals.

CiviCRM Blog: CiviCRM integration with Drupal Rules module

Workflow has been an important piece missing from CiviCRM. We figured that integrating with the Rules module in Drupal would address this problem. I decided to tackle it on as a weekend project :)

Kudos to the rules developer, Wolfgang ... [More] Zeigler for designing AND documenting an excellent module. The developer documentation is very comprehensive and along with the integration modules, i was able to write an integration module in a few hours. The source code for the module can be found in our svn repository

We hope to address and answer some of the integration questions with the community, similar to how the Views Integration Module has been developed. CiviCRM has got pretty good hook support, so I suspect adding extensive rules support is very feasible, i.e. fire rules based on CiviCRM hooks. We need to answer a few other questions to help us move this integration forward in a fruitful manner:

Arancaytar: XBBCode 7.x-0.9 released

I've spent a few more days improving and cleaning up the new version.

One thing I have managed to make loads better is the handler settings form: Instead of a table with simple checkboxes and weight selection elements, the form now ... [More] uses tablesort and tabledrag. The extra space is used to display the tag description,

(Note: Due to a bug in core most of the cool stuff will not work without applying a core patch.)

Hagen Graf: DrupalCamp Vienna

Sorry for the delay between the event and the post :-) too much work.

Nov 27th, 8:30
Coming from the warm Gerone/Spain I arrived a bit late. I used my chance being in Vienna to look for an cast iron spiral staircase for our house. This ... [More] shop has wonderful staircases but they know also how to make money - 7.500 € + taxes + transportation.

10:30
I arrived at the registration desk in the wonderful main building of Technische Universität, bought the cool Kaiser T-Shirt and got a cup of coffee from a strange drupalized coffee machine.

Do it With Drupal: Habitat is Cancelled

We are sorry to say that due to the weather, today's volunteer day for Habitat for Humanity has been called off. We worked through mud and snow last year, but unfortunately this year's soggy weather looks to be too much to safely work through on the ... [More] jobsite.

Thanks so much to everyone who signed up for the event. We're sorry about any inconvenience this causes, and we'll wield our hammers again next year! [Less]
