What about memory leaks?

I love the firefox web browser according to standards. But it's all the more
hateable for its memory leaks.Since it's first version it's carrying this bloatedness in it.Isn't bloatedware banned in Open source?I would prefer it to concentrate first only on its memory leak and continue for other features later

Ever since I've turned down IE for FF, I've never looked back. Firefox made a lot of new functionality that are included in many more browser, such as the add-on system. It enables user to add or remove functionalities from Firefox, making it the most customizable browser ever. There is however some downside. Memory usage. Firefox uses a lot of memory. Partly because it was founded on another old browser, partly because it had an exponential growth. However, never version tend to correct a lot of the memory leaks, and Firefox 3 uses a lot less memory than Firefox 2, which brought a lot of GUI changes.

Firefox for me is all about the range of plugins that allows you to get so much more effectiveness, especially when web developing, carrying out research or search engine optimisation (SEO).

Make sure you have Firebug, Web Developer Toolbar, ColorZilla, Customize Google, Greasemonkey, IE Tab, Live HTTP headers, Screen grab!, SearchStatus, SHhowIp and SwitchProxy Tool.

Great, but slows web evolution

Firefox was great browser in 2008. But then Google Chrome released.
Right now Firefox releases one browser version per 6-12 months, this is very slow.
With Chrome, users receive latest HTML5 things instantly, web-developers don't need to care about 'browser versions', because all users got latest Chrome.

I hope that FX and other browsers in the future would be developed as fast as Chrome.

While Firefox 3 may not include many new user interface features, it appears that Mozilla has finally fixed Firefox's many memory leaks and resource management. Not only is the browser considerably faster at loading, the rendering speed of Ajax-heavy pages, or Web 2.0 websites, is likewise 2-3 times faster. I also really like the improved GTK theme integration on Linux. This latest release is definitely worth checking out, and offers a considerable backend improvement over Firefox 2.

Firefox 4 Review

Mozilla Firefox is an Open Source web browser for varying systems and used widely around the world. Recent polls suggest that it is ranked as the 3rd most widely used web browser around the globe. With its latest release of Firefox 4, many adjustments have been made, in an attempt to make using the Internet just that much easier.
A new integration that Firefox 4 has is the ability to pair a handheld device in order to keep preferences saved. Using handheld devices to surf the web has become universal and the norm in everyday life. This new feature makes doing so just that much more user friendly. Personally speaking, although I find this a useful feature, I feel as if it could be so much more. Perhaps an option to use the copy and paste feature more efficiently. For example, whilst using a computer to surf the web, if a long body of text was important and a user wanted it on their handheld device, perhaps an option to use the copy function on the computer and the paste feature of the Smartphone to seamlessly integrate the two, and vice versa. Another idea would be to use the device pairing in order to ‘swipe’ a web page from a touch screen smart phone directly onto the screen of the desired computer.

The general feel of Firefox 4 is comfortable and easy to use. The new update seems that its main concern was making the entire web browsing experience faster and easier than ever, without compromising performance. Adjustments have been made to make the user experience quicker than ever, whilst seamlessly integrating some pioneering features. A feature called ‘Awesome Bar’ really concentrates on Firefox auto completing search functions, attempting to connect Firefox to the user on a more personal level as it seems to work with the user, attempting to make searching for anything as quick and easy as possible. in a much more efficient way. It seems to learn the more that you use it, making the auto complete in the URL bar more efficient and find best fitting matches with ease.

When using an Internet browser, without the use of tabs, Internet pages can be in abundance, being disorganized and not having that ‘ease-of-use’ feature that we all crave. The use of tabs removes that problem, putting all open web pages side by side in one window alone, making switching between them easy.
Firefox 4.0 update seems to have recognized this, by introducing a feature that I personally found extremely useful on the newest version of Firefox was something called App Tabs. In the same way that tabs would be open and organized all size by side at the top of a window, Firefox now makes it possible to have your most-used applications arranged in that same way. This is a great feature, focusing on organization making everything that’s needed readily accessible sitting neatly at the top of the given web page.
On the other hand, although the use of tabs in a web browser is an efficient way of keeping track of the pages that the user has opened, there is no specific structure or ordering of which tab is what.
Attempting to combat this slight lack of organization, Firefox has a new experimental feature named ‘Panorama.’ Again, focusing on organization, the idea of Panorama is to keep tabs that are open in an organized fashion. This is a useful innovation that allows a user to arrange all open tabs into folders, such as social networking, news, games etc. These groups of tabs are then arranged into separate windows, making multitasking a simplistic option.
Themes are also a possibility now, allowing the user to change the physical appearance of their browser with many different templates that can be downloaded and applied, or even ones that have been made by the user themselves. This adds a feel of ownership to the browser, and makes the environment more interesting to look at whilst comfortable.
