Back in January, the ImpressCMS Management Team was introduced. A group of 3 people were chosen to focus on the 3 priorities of the project - Development, Community, and Promotions. During the past 6 months, Marc-André Lanciault, Timothy Bowers

and Steve Kenow stepped into those roles and sought to get the right resources applied in the right places at the right times to keep us moving in the right direction. They also identified 3 other people to assist them in their roles and prepare them for the next stage of ImpressCMS. Sina Asghari, Rene Sato and Niels joined Marc-André, Timothy and Steve and assisted them in the many tasks of running an open source project. [Less]

The Final version of MyTube 1.05 has been released.
In this version the dimensions of most players have been set to a 16:9 ratio and most videos can be played automatically.

The Random and Recent horizontal blocks have been altered in such a way that the thumbnails will be displayed in multiple rows.

Last year, ImpressCMS was a finalist in the SourceForge Community Choice Awards in the Best New Project category. We didn't make the cutoff to be in the new project category again this year, but we appealed to the community for nominations in Best

Project and any others you felt we earned. The finalists were announced today at SourceForge and ImpressCMS was not among them. There are many other high-profile open source projects that did not place among the finalists either and only one content management system is a finalist (Typo 3).
We would like to recognize the positive contributions each of these projects has made in the open source arena and we are committed to being among them in future competitions. [Less]

It's been 6 weeks since our early preview of ImpressCMS 1.2 and we have another alpha release available for review. Even though we are still in the early phases of our release cycle, we have built on top of the 1.2 Alpha 1 release and begun to focus

on bug fixing and stability.
Alpha releases are releases primarily targeted at developers to test the code and get familiar with the new additions - but don't let this put you off. We welcome everyone to get involved! We would appreciate all users getting involved and providng feedback about the new features, remembering the quicker we get these reports, the quicker we can adjust and move on the Beta, Release Candidate (RC) and then of course the 'Final' (Stable).
