John Bintz has added a new flood fill tool, that performs a bitmap-based fill of a rendered version of the canvas, then traces the result back into SVG. There's a spiffy new bucket icon on the toolbar for accessing it.

Linux.com has published a well researched review of Inkscape 0.45. Regarding the Cairo PDF export support, we also have news today that the Cairo team have made it a goal for their 1.4.2 release to focus on solving the issues that have been hampering conversion to cairo for our PDF export. :-)

This is pretty cool... A 7th grade class in the UK is creating a video game and uses Inkscape to create the artwork and logo. The students have written up their comments on using Inkscape. Its really easy top use inkscape! and fun i have learnt ... [More] to make stars and lots more things, Also callighrapic writing witch is really cool ! I think its going to be really good when i make my logo ! Cause its a good program, and easy too use :) [Less]
