keystash is a “treasure chest” for access data, eg. passwords, secret keys, etc. It retains additional information related to entries, such as the user name, URI and notes. Data is stored in a plain text file, VCS compatible (mergeable line by line), encrypted and protected by a master password. Additionally, the FPM/KedPM file format is also supported for legacy files.

keystash ist eine „Schatztruhe“ für Zugangsdaten, z.B. Paßwörter, geheime Schlüssel, usw. Es speichert außerdem Informationen zu Einträgen, z.B. Benutzernamen, URI und Notizen. Die Daten werden in einer Klartextdatei gespeichert, in einem für ein VCS einfach zu handhabenden Format (Zeile für Zeile mergebar), verschlüsselt und mit einem zentralen Paßwort gesichert. Das FPM/KedPM Format für Altdaten wird auch unterstützt.
