<description>Welcome to MapAttributes!MapAttributes enables thematic mapping and spatial analysis over the web.

It can serve up geographic attributes in XML for use in web mapping or analysis. It can ingest attribute data to automatically generate thematic maps or augment GIS databases. It supports input and editing of attribute data via the web.

MapAttributes is an open source project that supports and extends the Geographic Linkage Service (GLS) standard from the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). It runs on any platform that supports Ruby on Rails.

For more information, see the FAQ.

StatusMapAttributes is extremely new (like I just picked the name), but some functionality is already available. See the RoadMap for a list of what is completed and yet to come.

Note: this project is being used to drive out improvements to the GLS standard, so it may extend or deviate from the published standard.

ContributingNew coders and testers are very welcome.</description>
