Woot!
For weeks, I've been searching for a way to determine if a given geographical point is over land or water. Yesterday, I finally got it using MapServer, the GSHHS shoreline data (ftp://ftp.soest.hawaii.edu/pwessel/gshhs), and about a dozen lines of PHP. Runs much faster than I expected it to, too (about .06-.08 seconds). Thanks guys! 1 out of 2 users found the following review helpful. |
