Project Summary

Analyzed 4 days ago based on code collected 4 days ago.

The Meadowview Library Catalog database is currently a Microsoft Access database (MySQL solution and more is on the way if I can get some more manpower or stronger coffee) that offers a low cost way for small libraries to manage their collections without the cost of a larger system. I built this database for a church library and it would function well for another church library, a small public library or for your own personal use. This database has much potential and can be freely edited under the GNU GPL that accompanies the download. Much work has gone into building this database and coming from working with a small library budget I understand how tight things can be. Since this database is freely available it has a minimal impact on your budget but if you would like, I'll most certainly accept donations to further this project. Otherwise please give back by helping build a community around this database and contributing to its development or if you cannot do so you can spread the word about this database.

Extras: Under the downloads tab I've (for those of us who use Linux) included a installer for a Wine+MSAccess 2000 install. Just download the archive untar it, double click the install.sh and click "run", then you can run MSAccess 2000. You need a valid MSAccess 2000 key to run this though, sorry guys not really feeling in the mood for a cease and desist letter. (Finding a legal key should be easy to do since Access 2000 is 10 years old. If you do have trouble finding a legal key, contact me and I'll help you find a legal key.)
The above Linux installer has only been tested on the following systems:

Ubuntu 9.10 Ubuntu 9.04 Ubuntu 8.04 LTS

Note: The AccessWine Installer is not part of this project but it is included as tool to make using this database across systems easier. The licensing terms may be different.
