We have observed the recent successes and failures of bitcoin with great interest. Our analysts have been working hard and found a way to leverage the power of ocPortal points, combined with bitcoin technology, to create a fully regulated online ... [More] digital currency. Imagine the benefits of a true digital currency, under the dependable control of OCP, with full anti-fraud regulation.

We call this technology, ocSterling (OCS).

We are building a new network infrastructure consisting of a number of key components…

1) We are taking advantage of the UK's most data-connected city, Cheltenham, to build a new data processing infrastructure. All transactions will be carefully inspected by our analysts, working under the supervision of our director (Graham, Chris), at our Head-Quarters. We will be able to process the ocSterling equivalent to over 9000 megabitcoins per second.

2) All Apple devices (iOS < 7.0.6) will be automatically upgraded over the air to include our patented hard-edge wallet technology. Our engineers are working hard on finding a way to automatically upgrade newer versions of iOS.

3) The currency will be backed by our subsidiary bank, which will hold 1337 million coins in reserve at launch. Key OCP personnel will have discretionary powers to use these coins to back important infrastructure projects.

4) We are setting up a new website, ocsexchange.com.

5) We are actively working with standards committees to bond MI5-level security into major upcoming encryption standards.

6) Anyone caught using ocSterling inappropriately will automatically be photographed and tracked, using webcams and GPS, powered by the 5eyes network.

We will initially be launching as a UK-only service, but soon we will be spreading across the world via our USA partner, Neo Strategic Alliance, who are building a huge new data centre in Maryland.

We thank you for your interest and look forwarding to improving the security for all of you. [Less]

Last night Twitter buzzed up with a set of "exploits" for ocPortal, published without fore-notice by an Iranian student hacker.

The "exploits" all target the ocPortal installer, which ocPortal actually will not allow you ... [More] to leave enabled after you've installed your site – for security reasons. On further review we have not been able to reproduce any of the listed exploits, or find any serious problem during code analysis.

The only issue we were able to find was the ability for a hacker read any file named licence.txt out of a directory of their choice, if you left the installer in place prior to finishing the installation of your website. This issue will be resolved in the next release. [Less]

Hi all,

As we are entering the Christmas period, ocProducts support will not be officially available from Tuesday 24th December until the 2nd January.

We will do our best to process any emergency priority support tickets put through ... [More] in a timely manner – but most other priority tickets will be processed once we return to normal office hours.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays.

Hello,

ocPortal defines a larger icon, for use by browsers when they need one. However, many ocPortal admins do not customise this icon as it is rarely seen (i.e. often unnoticed by the admin).

The latest version of Google Chrome ... [More] seems to have changed how favicons are processed (bug). It is down-scaling the large icon, rather than choosing the correct sized favicon.

As you probably will not want a shrunken version of the text "ocPortal" shown to Google Chrome users, you should customise the 'appleicon' theme image to set something more appropriate.

Hopefully Google will fix this bug, as it would be much better if Chrome continued to choose the most appropriate image size.

I am not sure at this point if this only affects Mac users, some other segment of users, or all Google Chrome users. [Less]
