During a routine code review, we have discovered a critical vulnerability in OpenFISMA.

We are simultaneously releasing patches today for OpenFISMA versions 2.12.0 and 2.13.1. We recommend for all users to upgrade immediately.

If ... [More] you are using a version of OpenFISMA prior to 2.12.0, then we recommend that you upgrade to the 2.12 or 2.13 series as soon as possible to take advantage of the security patch.

OpenFISMA 2.13.1 has been released! This release contains big improvements to the usability of the search features as well as new administrator functions for configuring access control.

We are working on changing the deployment model for OpenFISMA. Right now, the application is delivered as a zip file (tarball, to be more accurate) from the website. The application has dependencies on other software of course, such as an operating system (Linux), web server (Apache), database (MySQL) and search engine (Solr).

2010 was a big year for the OpenFISMA project. The size of the team grew from 2 full-time employees to 5, and we delivered the biggest year of updates and improvements in the history of the project. 2011 promises to be an even bigger year.
