AutoMOD 1.0.0-RC1 Released

The MOD Team is proud to announce the immediate availability of the first release candidate for AutoMOD, our automated MOD installation tool. There have been a large number of bug fixes improving the overall ... [More] stability. The most prominent addition is the backup of all files before they are edited.

The RC should be more stable than the previous betas, but we still suggest you not to use it on a live board. We will continue to provide support as we have for the betas.

What are you waiting for? Pick up the RC at the download page. Find more information at the AutoMOD page. For a full list of changes, see the changelog. [Less]

Expanded MOD policies published

Hi all,

The phpBB MODifications Team is proud to announce the availability of our new policies page, that gives an insight to how we handle validation.

We have added two new policies to this page. The first new policy, insta-deny ... [More] , describes when we Insta-Deny a MOD. With this information you know in what case we actually will deny your MOD and how you can prevent this. It also says in what cases we don't deny, even if MPV complains.
The second new policy, the repack policy, describes when we repack a MOD. With this information you know why we don't repack a MOD in some cases even when it's a small issue, or when we repack a MOD while it actually is a pretty large issue.

With these two new policies we hope the community understands the inner working of the validation process better.

What do you want to see on this blog?

How many forums should I create?

I touched briefly on this in the very first blog post here at phpBB.com. If you’ve just set up phpBB, how many forums should you create?
As I said in that blog post, the key is to start small and increase the number of forums you have over time. There is nothing worse than going to [...]

Talkin bout Area51

No! I’m not talking about military bases or U.S. conspiracy theories, but rather phpBB’s very own Area51 - http://area51.phpbb.com
Area51 is phpBB’s official testing ground, and as stated on the site it is the home of “bleeding edge ... [More] developmental code”. The site was established in 2001 - the brainchild of psoTFX, the former leader of the [...] [Less]
