During the last few years, our interests have gone in different directions. Ascension, our new template for August is focused on K2. We know many of our customers are using K2 in just about everything they do so we wanted to focus on a design that was K2  friendly.

We believe the reason we have had so much success is based on the simplicity of not only the code for templates, but the design and layout. We know not everyone who has a JoomlaPraise template is a beginner, so we wanted to make a template that is very easy to edit and customize.

Ascension has all of the normal features of our templates with custom parameters to get you started as well as four really cool themes.

August is all about fun and introducing a template with a wow factor that also maintains strong design elements is a great way to get this month started.

SimpleShop - Joomla Tienda and Virtuemart Template

For our final template this Ecommerce Month we found ourselves looking back on a previous ecommerce template we did. Simpleshop stuck out like a sore thumb. It supported a cart component called Foxxycart. We felt that there could be vast improvements ... [More] to what we had already created. So essentially we made a remix of a remix or a re-remix. However you want to call it we feel like it's a vast improvement on a previous design.

SimpleShop Remix is overall better. We included CSS for both Virtuemart and Tienda components. SimpleShop comes with 4 themes to start with along with a built in CSS dropdown menu. Also included in the template is custom CSS styles for our Tienda Slides module.

Last week I started off with an topic for this article that I really thought was going to be awesome; to find 10 of the best Free Joomla Templates out there and tell you why I think they're awesome. ... [More] I searched high and low, from BestOfJoomla.com to the Joomla Resources Directory, and you know what? I could hardly even find five to make the list (see after the break for the list).

Obviously, I'm not counting the 8 free Joomla templates that we've built for you over the last few years (we have more free templates for Joomla 1.5 than any other club, dontcha know), but even with cutting our own massive collection out you'd think there would be plenty of other great free templates to choose from, right? Mercado is our first major entry into Joomla Ecommerce Templates. This template comes w/unique styles for 3 big components: VirtueMart, Tienda and K2.
