The OrangeFS project has released OrangeFS 2.8.4, which also serves as a
minor release for PVFS under the same number. This continuation of the

The PVFS project has a new minor release, version 2.8.2. This
release includes a number of bug fixes since the 2.8.1 release, improving
overall stability and performance of PVFS. This release also includes
support for the latest Linux kernels up to 2.6.32. See the

The PVFS project has a new minor release, version 2.8.1. This
release includes a few bug fixes since the 2.8.0 release. Important
bug fixes include build fixes for the Infiniband module, and support
for migrating from existing storage spaces that contain empty files. See the

The PVFS project has a new major release, version 2.8.0. This
release includes a number of new features, improving performance for
a variety of different workloads and access patterns. Specific changes
include:

Specific support ... [More] for small-file and many-file access patterns,
including inode-stuffing, object precreation, and much improved
directory listing (readdir) performance.

Support for a direct I/O mode on the storage server, providing improved
performance for enterprise and shared storage backends. The direct I/O
mode can be enabled with a config file option. See the documentation for the

TroveMethod server option
for details.

Experimental support for a PVFS FUSE (filesystem in userspace) module.

Support for building BMI (the high performance networking library) packages.

Argonne National Laboratory has one of the fastest supercomputers in the world,
and they plan to use PVFS for high performance parallel I/O. Read more

The PVFS project has a new minor release, version 2.7.1. This
release includes additional support for the latest linux kernel versions,
improved performance for a number of metadata intensive workloads, and

Code 2008 program. We have some
project ideas
that we think would be great GSoC projects. If you're a student interested in

The PVFS project has a new feature release, version 2.7.0. This
release includes additional support for a number of high-performance
networks, namely Myricom MX and Cray Portals. We also provide a number
of feature improvements to the ... [More] Infiniband networking layer, a new
two-dimensional distribution for TCP networks, immutable file support,
and better support for user-specified layout of data over storage objects.
We also include support for Linux kernels 2.6.22 and 2.6.23, as well
as continue support for older kernel versions.
