Body: So things have been a bit slow progressing, but in order to show the project is still alive and moving on, albeit a bit slowly since we're all busy with various other things at the moment, I've thrown up a second alpha. Nothing major has ... [More] changed since the last release, but a few bugs have been fixed, the most notable with clear / black screen not working properly all the time.

As always, I'll post more about dates / features when we know more ourselves! [Less]

Body: It's been a while, but here are some comments that people are making about Quelea!

"sky-blackening flocks of the tiny "feathered locust”

Ouch

"Africa's most hated ... [More] bird"

Ouch

"highly mobile, have few natural predators and breed extremely fast. Man has been unable to make a serious impact despite the arsenal of weapons available"

Ouch Ouch

Here at Quelea we are shocked at the level of abuse directed at an innocent song projection software, not even the developers slate the software that bad.

A lot of effort has been put into the development of making a world class, free, open source, song projection system, but still some people can't help but complain. What will it take to please you?

Just a little respect, a few kind words, that's all we ask. Sometimes I wonder why we bother.

N.B. Ahh...  Sorry about that - turns out I was looking at an article about the wrong type of Quelea! My bad - massive apologies! Turns out we named the software after a type of bird that is considered a major pest in sub-Saharan Africa. Thankfully, nobody (that we know) has looked into "trying to develop systems to catch the birds and turn them into food for people" with Quelea projection!

Body: A few more bugs have come to my attention since releasing 0.5.2, one in particular that meant schedules wouldn't open properly seemed to leave some people feeling like this:

Fortunately though, a fix is on the way which will ... [More] hopefully solve such issues, and a few others we've found and fixed. The version is (surprise, surprise) 0.5.3, and you can grab it from the Google Code downloads page. If you spot any problems, please let us know! [Less]

Body: Yes, I know, we went through this whole thing a while back - but here we are again, and another new site is here!

The old host was free (great), but there were unfortunately a lot of side effects that came with that - it was very ... [More] slow, had a very low bandwidth limit which meant it was often down or offline, and was very restrictive over what modules and suchlike could be installed. It also didn't allow backups, which is a major downside (I can get quite obsessive about backing things up.)

So here we are, with a much better site that's been given a facelift in the process. We're still in the process of getting everything set up properly, but hopefully it should be pretty soon (the bulk of it is there already.) If you see any problems then as always feel free to let us know!

Just getting started!

Hi all,

We're updating and renewing Quelea's website at the moment - the old one was rather slow and unreliable, and that's all about to change!

Please bear with us for a while while we sort everything out. In the meantime, you can view information and downloads for the project here: http://code.google.com/p/quelea-projection/

As promised, 0.5.2 has now been released! It contains a number of bug fixes and new features, including support for the PPTX file format. Grab it from the usual place: http://quelea.org/download

As promised, 0.5.2 is being rolled out with some of the stable updates and fixes that have been worked on since 0.5.1. We've put a release candidate up on the downloads page (http://code.google.com/p/quelea-projection/downloads/list) for you to try - so have a play around and let us know about any problems!
