Quick and dirty
This project is a Python module in C that implements the Quick And Dirty algorithm of Numerical Recipes for generating pseudo random numbers. The module is called quickndirty.
The goal is to have an efficient implementation in the generation of random numbers and faster than the most commonly used implementations. Some experiments were performed between the module and the implementation quickndirty scipy.random (Mersenne Twister) to assess performance. Other tests were conducted to evaluate the quality of the generator. Chi-squared? and Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests were performed to evaluate the goodness of fit of empirical probability distribution generated by the sample of random variables. Were also developed some examples of using the random number generator.
