<body>@jason: #ruby-elf is the basis for a few tools I use when improving software, lately I've been spending most of my time working on the collision-detection script (that incidentally shows me bundled libraries in other software), but I've done quite a bit of work with cowstats to reduce the memory requirement of libraries and programs. In theory it can be used to re-implement most of the inspection utilities in binutils in pure ruby </body>

<body>@jason: maybe #rspec is not exactly what I was looking for to use with #ruby-elf, but now that I ported #ruby-bombe&amp;apos;s testsuite to that, I certainly can see its usefulness... the verbose output is perfect to make sure I do check what I need to check </body>

<body>Okay, certainly now I know #ruby-elf isn&amp;apos;t half as finished as I was hoping it to be; #OpenSolaris shown me there are so many more options in ELF that I haven&amp;apos;t taken into consideration yet. </body>

<body>Good, I stopped #ruby-elf from choking on the file, and opened a bug for #binutils. I have to say that at least #elfutils was able to deal with the file much better.
I&amp;apos;m now installing #opensolaris so I can add some more tests to make ruby-elf even more solid. </body>
