Tinygettext is a replacement for gettext that works directly on .po files, so any troublesome compilation from .po to .gmo becomes unnecessary and testing becomes much easier. Tinygettext also is much more tolerant when it comes to the location where you place the .po files, so using it on non-Unix systems becomes much easier and straightforward.

The initialization of tinygettext naturally is a little different from gettext, the core API however is the same as gettext, so switching from tinygettext to gettext or visa verse is very simple.

Another feature of tinygettext is that it allows you to make use of multiple language dictionaries at once, so its more flexible then gettext.
