Apache Synapse is designed to be a simple, lightweight and high performance Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) from Apache.

Based on a small asynchronous core, Apache Synapse has excellent support for XML and Web services - as well as binary and text formats. The Synapse engine is configured with a simple XML format and comes with a set of ready-to-use transports and mediators.

Synapse is made available under the Apache Software License 2.0.

Please note that the project has a much longer history than the Ohloh metrics indicate, because of an SVN move. The project started in September 2005, and has had 5 major releases.

feck. Two experiments failed overnight. I tried git-svn importing synapse's historical repo -- ran for hours and yielded nothing. Then my local gentoo-x86 cvs mirror didn't perform any faster than the actual cvs server (ohloh crawled 15 commits in 8 hours!). jason — 2 months ago tags: Apache Synapse

git svn cloning synapse asf repo... still running, but so far so good (ran: svn clone --trunk=trunk --tags=tags --branches=branches http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/synapse) jason — 2 months ago tags: Apache Synapse
