Drake CMS is a light-weight PHP dynamic web authoring and content managment system with an embedded flat file database (Gladius DB) and support for any other database system. High speed, best security, full internationalization and customizability. Works on any PHP4/PHP5.
Goals

Drake CMS was originally a continuation of the Limbo CMS project (what is usually referred to as a development fork).

The goals of this project are to deliver a mature and stable product, to maintain the system as an open source software and to foster growth of the Drake CMS community.

Its Good, will get better

    by Trex

Drake CMS is still in the final stages of beta tesing and development, but there are early signs that it will fill a void in the lighter end of the CMS field. It has many of the looks and feel of Mambo and Joomla, but on a much ligther scale.

Drakes inbuilt flat file DBMS, Gladius, will be a winner with those who use free hosting services and those on limited budgets with minimal hosting services. The ability to use a multitude of ... [More] other, low to high end, DB systems that are supported is also to be complimenetd.

The basic feature list will be welcome as it provides all the bells and whistles to setup a basic to a vewry extensive usable website. News/FAQ/Forums/Downloads/User input/Event lists/Calendars/Polls etc, all able to be placed where wanted, published and unpublished. Admin is carried out from a Admin backend, some functions can be done in the frontend.

Anyone familiar with Joomla or Mambo will feel right at home except Drakes significantly smaller footpint with associated speed benefits.

It still has some way to go but if the community gets involved and begins producing additional Addons, Templates etc then it will be a more than very useful addition to the CMS arena. [Less]

Critics

  by legolas558

I am the author of the "history"; why is it irrelevant? What would be a relevant history for this open source project? I don't understand...

About the other critics you wrote: it is not a hidden fact that we lack developers, documentors, testers and anything else.

I like very much critics, but I like more *constructive* critics.
