ZXing (pronounced "zebra crossing") is an open-source, multi-format 1D/2D barcode reader library implemented in Java. Our goal is to support decoding of QR Codes, Data Matrix, and the UPC family of 1D barcodes. It will provide clients for J2ME, J2SE, and Android.

I just wanted to thank you for releasing the ZXing library under an
Apache open-source license. My Android application was one of the 50
winners of the Android Developer Challenge, and ZXing was an important
part of my submission.

A couple things recently compelled me to realize that the *contents*
of barcodes also need some standardization, and that it's lacking. I
put together the above wiki to begin collecting information on how to
format certain types of information within a barcode.
I've just spent a little time incorporating zxing 0.6 into my
Moseycode android application. The library has been great - very
straightforward to use.
