availability of the fourth release candidate for the next release - phpBB 3.0.6.
This fourth release candidate contains mostly regression fixes. Everyone able to should test this release and report critical bugs (those, stopping the operation of the forum) and issues to the bug tracker or directly to the developers.

Note to people using 3.0.4 files in 3.0.5 installations
We know that some replaced their includes/functions_messenger.php file from their phpBB 3.0.5 installation with the version from phpBB 3.0.4 due to the following bug:
Ticket: http://www.phpbb.com/bugs/phpbb3/46725Ticket Description: Ticket #46725 - functions_messenger [...] causing emailing issues
If you update to RC4 please *re-upload the 3.0.5 functions_messenger.php file* and any other file you replaced with previous versions. If you do not use phpBB 3.0.5 files all modifications will be identified as non-phpBB modifications and merged during the automatic update. This will result in wrong updates where to-be-updated parts for phpBB 3.0.6 will not be included and you will not benefit from the bug fixes - or even notice grave errors.
Language Packs and Styles
The changes are provided with the code changes package. There were two language changes between RC3 and RC4. Style authors should download the code changes package and adjust their styles accordingly. Please post within our Styles forums if you have questions or encounter problems.

The Modifications Team is proud to announce the availability of the 1.0.1 "Spooky Edition" of UMIL, the Unified MOD Install Library.
UMIL is a library for MOD authors that enables them to easily create database installation and update
... [More]
scripts for their MODs. It provides unified methods to access phpBB's API for adding modules, adding permissions, modifying the database, and more.
We require MODs containing UMIL that are submitted to the MODDB to contain this new version. In order to update the UMIL release included with your MOD just replace the old UMIL folder with the new one, no other changes are required.
How to get it
You can get UMIL and more information from the UMIL page.
What's new
The following was changed in this release.
[Fix] Ignore missing @import files for themes. #48415[Fix] Error when uninstalling with table_row_ actions (was re-running the function). #48515[Fix] In some cases call_user_func_array errors when the second parameter is not an array. Setting up a new function to handle the multicall. #48825[Fix] Sending false for the second variable for the module_exists and module_remove function isn't possible (it should be for a feature it has). #51475, #51495[Fix] module_exists should accept a module_id to check for, as it is needed in some circumstances when adding or removing modules. #51485[Change] No longer using the sql_create_table function in db_tools if present, it still has bugs. May reconsider if phpBB starts using it.[Change] Cleaned up the table_row_ functions[Change] Setup get_output_text() to remove some duplicated code (also removed the result() function and replaced the calls with this)[Feature] Ability to specify before|after when adding a module (with the module_langname of the module you would like to have it placed before|after) #48425Bugs
Please report any bugs you encounter to the tracker.

Hello,

effort to increase product stability we are happy to announce the availability of the third release candidate for the next release - phpBB 3.0.6.
This third release candidate contains mostly regression fixes. Everyone able to should test this release and report critical bugs (those, stopping the operation of the forum) and issues to the bug tracker or directly to the developers.
We recommend international support sites to update their sites to RC3 too. We are able to provide direct support to them within our international support sites forums.
Changes since RC2
We changed the following things since RC2:
We reverted revision r10079 which enabled notifications and bookmarks being automatically copied over to splits of topics. We want to discuss this behaviour further, because currently there is no way to influence this setting for users and admins alike. Because this is a new feature in 3.0.6 we decided to not release it at this moment. We fixed the ReCaptcha plugin to support RTLFixed the Q&A Captcha to not print out notices if the admin chose to remove all questionsFixed the ACP update page to print a failure message if phpbb.com is not reachable for the version checkFixed regression from r9678 (add_log() statements for removing posts/topics)updated acp forums copy style to look like the rest of the ACPDisabled copy forum permissions screen in forums creation/update workflow (we will revisit this one later)Fixed the "switch permissions" linkFixed ACP issues with long content by reverting revisions r10176 and r9647Changed language/en/email/pm_report_deleted.txt to change the reference to "post" to "private message"Changed notification about possibility to post private messages in UCP; this involves style changes. Style authors please look at the RC2 to RC3 code changes package if you already updated your styles to RC2.Updated the Custom Profile Fields option "view on viewtopic" based on previous settings in database updaterFixed wrong bbcode uid assigned if error triggered in quote/forward PMFixed default group assignment if removing from default group and user was in newly registered groupcorrectly execute database update step for RC releases where admins forgot to enable the PHPBB_QA constant. We now detect if the version the admin wants to update to is greater than the current version even if phpbb.com says the current version is lower than the update version.
If you update to RC3 please *re-upload the 3.0.5 functions_messenger.php file* and any other file you replaced with previous versions. Hello,
In an
... [More]
effort to increase product stability we are happy to announce the availability of the second release candidate for the next release - phpBB 3.0.6.
This second release candidate contains mostly regression fixes. We also tested the automatic updater with some heavily modified boards and were able to significantly decrease it's failure rate.
The automatic updater is now able to detect and solve most usual conflicts and only shows conflicts for lines where a MOD/User changed the same line as we did. The updater also resolves SVN $Id$ conflicts on it's own.
This - and some fixes to the updater - results in a lot less conflicts and therefore a much more pleasant update experience.
Everyone able to should test this release and report critical bugs (those, stopping the operation of the forum) and issues to the bug tracker or directly to the developers.
We recommend international support sites to update their sites to RC2 too. We are able to provide direct support to them within our international support sites forums.
Note to people using 3.0.4 files in 3.0.5 installations
We know that some replaced their includes/functions_messenger.php file from their phpBB 3.0.5 installation with the version from phpBB 3.0.4 due to the following bug:
Ticket #46725 - functions_messenger [...] causing emailing issues
If you update to RC2 please *re-upload the 3.0.5 functions_messenger.php file* and any other file you replaced with previous versions.
We already gave out instructions to language pack authors to let them update their language packs in a timely manner. The changes are provided with the code changes package (see downloads section below). Style authors should also download the code changes package and adjust their styles accordingly. Please post within our Styles forums if you have questions or encounter problems.
There were no changes to the language files or the styles from RC1 to RC2.

Hello,
In an
... [More]
effort to increase product stability we are happy to announce the availability of the first release candidate for the next release - phpBB 3.0.6.
This release contains a lot more features, bug fixes and changes than previous releases, therefore we expect a longer RC phase and maybe one or two additional RC's this time. Everyone able to should test this release and report critical bugs (those, stopping the operation of the forum) and issues to the bug tracker or directly to the developers.
We recommend international support sites to update their sites to RC1 too.
If you update to RC1 please *re-upload the 3.0.5 functions_messenger.php file* and any other file you replaced with previous versions.
Tagging/Reviewing fixes
Every member is now able to verify bug fixes and mark them as fixed within the trackers. To mark a bugfix as verified go to the bug and click on "I have verified the fix of this ticket" in the "Options" section on the right. Of course prior to clicking you should have properly checked whether the bug was really fixed. Of course you should comment on the respective bug if you find problems so the fix can be corrected.
To make it easier for you to find fixed bugs that need testing we created a bug overview page. It lists unfixed critical bugs at the top. Then a list of critical bugs that have been fixed - these should be thorougly checked to confirm that the problem has really been solved. And then all other bugs that have been fixed since the last release are listed. You should focus on the least tested bugs when selecting one to test.
Language Packs and Styles
We already gave out instructions to language pack authors to let them update their language packs in a timely manner. The changes are provided with the code changes package (see downloads section below). Style authors should also download the code changes package and adjust their styles accordingly. Please post within our Styles forums if you have questions or encounter problems.
The package is downloadable from:
