I haven't been able to work on Entertainer for a long time now. It's a shame, because I really like the project and think that it has potential. Especially, because of the great develoment team it has gathered. About a year ago, I purchased domain ... [More] entertainer-project.com that was used as a home of the project. This still applies, but I gave up the domain and it is now owned by Paul Hummer, our most dedicated Entertainer developer.

Entertainer 0.1 has been released

It has been over a year since I started to work on this project. A lot of progress has happen since that. Back then, I didn't know Python language at all, I wasn't familiar with multimedia coding or any of the GUI stuff that project like Entertainer would require. So it was all new and exciting to me.

Updated my hardware

Yep, I got a new computer and it's great! To be spesific the hardware is great, OSX is mostly great, but not perfect.

Yep, as every reader of blog already knows, it's here. It's smooth, beautiful and stable. I can recommend it to anyone who happens to like good looking and stable operating system. That would be those who don't like windows or any other "living on the edge" operating systems.

Vacation from Entertainer

Yeah, that's right! I haven't been working on Entertainer for awhile. Why? Well, I guess the reason is my new screen that makes me use all my free time watching movies. I bought my very first video projector and have been enjoying it most of my free time.

Entertainer - Second sprint

We had our second coding sprint last weekend. Sprint means that all the developers try to work on Entertainer as much as they possibly can. Our last sprint was success and we had a lot of new features. This time wasn't exception. We worked hard and ... [More] project is going forward faster than I ever thought it would. Here is a list of things we did during last weekend:

Paul is working on ORM (Object-relational mapping) based media cache (still using SQLite as backend). This will be a great improvement for Entertainer. A lots of progress was made during sprint.

Entertainer became popular

Yeah, this seems to be the case since someone put the link to thedigg.com website. My webserver was completely owned by digg and the site was unavailable for many hours. Luckily, I have a very nice webhosting service and they took care of this and ... [More] added bandwidth for my site. Now, it's up again although there might be some slow down s time to time.

Problems with trunk

New year old project. Still working on Entertainer. I bought a new computer and it took some time to get everything back up and running. Now all works and I can continue working on my project. I have done some code cleaning and fixed the windows resizing bug. Too bad, that bazaar crashes everytime I try to push my code to lauchpad.
