Moreover, being compatible with standard UO freeshard game servers, the player is not limited to play with only users of Iris but may also seamlessly interact with players using standard 2d clients. Actually, Iris is developed and tested to work on RunUO driven custom shards, but there are quite a lot of other emulators working (for example Sphere, POL, UOX).
