TurboGears is a rapid development "front-to-back" open source web meta-framework. TurboGears was created in 2005 by Kevin Dangoor. Version 1.0 was released in early 2007. Development progressed to version 1.1, replacing SQLAlchemy with SQLObject and Kid with Genshi as default components. Version 1.5 is now based on CherryPy 3 instead of CherryPy 2. Formidable is an open source application framework based on the TYPO3 CMS. It features smart template engine, many form widgets, ajax and events handling, XHTML valid code and accessibility thanks to the unobtrusive-js technique. It is usable as pure TypoScript cObj, inside front end plugins or even in the TYPO3 backend.
