apt-zeroconf

the distributed apt-cacher for local networks implemented in Python. It's called apt-zeroconf since it uses avahi for automatically finding other apt-zeroconf instances on the LAN, similar to Apple's Rendezvous/Bonjour/Zeroconf technology

gnome-user-share

gnome-user-share shares files over Webdav and http, the shares are pusblished over the local network using Avahi (an open-source implementation of Apple's Bonjour). It supports also ObexFTP and ObexPush for downloading and pushing files from Bluetooth devices.

yum-avahi-plugin

yum-avahi-proxy is a yum plugin to use avahi to search for a local proxy server. This will allow roaming machines to take advantage of a proxy server when joining different networks. If no proxy servers are found, then yum will fall-back to it's default settings.
