The Bama Mobile Registration project was a part of a project for CS-415: Software Engineering under Randy K. Smith for the Fall 2009 semester at the University of Alabama. The project goal was to ... [More] create a native means to register for classes on both the Windows Mobile and Android platforms. A team of programmers were assigned to each platform. This project is the Android implementation. Part of the Android team's goals was to keep the project open-source. For the scope of the class, the final project was turned in on December 2, 2009 and has since had no incentive to continue development. As it stands, the project is simply an Android application with an invented XML communication protocol with no real way to hook up with MyBama, the class registration system used at the University of Alabama. MyBama is built on proprietary software which the team did not have access to, so the team built its own MyBama emulator for testing purposes. It is estimated that there would be a great deal of work involved with integration to the proprietary backend and so far the administration has shown no interest in implementing our project, so it is mostly here for reference purposes with no real application until there is a marketable backend that will support it. BMR Android is fully functional in the sense that it can communicate fully with a backend, but has no current commercial-grade backend which supports it. [Less]
