This simple app allows you to include an "e-mail this to a friend" link (as seen on many newspaper websites) on any page that can be accessed via a get_absolute_url() method. This project is my Master of Engineering thesis project at the University of York. I am developing an e-mail filter that uses an artificial immune system to determine whether an e-mail is interesting to the user or not. A later extension will be that the filter will be capable of categorising e-mail ... [More] in user-defined categories. The advantages to using an artificial immune system are that it is robust, can track trends and respond quickly to changes. Part of my project is to compare its performance to a naive Bayesian mail filter to see if this is a viable approach. I am using the Spamato spam filter framework (http://www.spamato.net) to produce a plugin that can be used in Mozilla Thunderbird or in Microsoft Outlook. This project is still in the development phase; a first alpha release is planned for May 2007. Any help in the form of tips and advice is appreciated! [Less]

BlitzMail is Dartmouth College's proprietary e-mail system. It has become an important tool for social interaction on campus, but it has certain limitations. For example, the most common mode of usage of BlitzMail is short messages exchanged by people when they want to just chat, arrange a ... [More] meeting, or plainly procrastinate. This results in cluttered in-boxes where important e-mails get lost in the sea of "one-liners". For that reason we chose to develop a new BlitzMail application, that combines the basic e-mail functionality with other communication tools, such as IM messaging, so that people can communicate easier and manage their e-mail better. SvnReporter generates various reports in response to commits happening in a Subversion repository. It is intended to be called from the post-commit hook. Two types of reports are supported: single-commit and commit list reports. The former generate reports relative to a specific revision only ... [More] , and are typically used to generate post-commit mails. The latter generate reports relative to a list of commits, e.g. an RSS feed or a web page showing the latest commits. Reports can be restricted to commits whose objects match certain criteria, specified by a list of regular expressions. The format of the reports can be defined freely and flexibly using a very simple template format. A few example templates are included in the distribution. [Less]
