Fire Off is an action game. It is basically a "3D shooter" in which the player sees a map from above (top-down) and controls a character who is charged with shooting everything. The character has a large number of weapons: Guns, missiles, machine guns, and so on, and must be going through ... [More] some ground to meet the different missions, including rescuing someone, or destroy any artifact or anything typical of the Rambo-style movies. The game definitely has a good deal of action and therefore requires an environment that encourages the more ancestral instinct of human beings: 1% 99% thought adrenaline! The aim is that the player feels a sense of frantic action and high pulsations. Quick movements, amazing sounds and impactful visual effects are some of the ways to create this environment. [Less]

The SFII90 engine is designed to allow the development of video games or rapid development of video game prototypes using Ruby scripts. It is designed to be simple to use at the cost of possible speed sacrifices. Future versions are planned which will offer network game play, 3D scene and model ... [More] support, cross-platform support, and speed optimizations. The engine itself is written in C++ using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Express. Developers are free to modify and/or add additional functionality as needed, although development can be done solely through Ruby scripts. This is the recommended method of game development using SFII90. 15 Dec 2008 - Download the SFII90 0.1.0 Development Installer (Windows XP/Vista). 18 Jul 2009 - Note: SFII90 0.1.1 is in development and will be posted as soon as the remaining issues are resolved. Additional documentation is expected to be added to the Google Code Wiki. If you're interested in game development using Ruby but don't like SFII90, I suggest taking a look at: Gosu Rubygame Shattered Ruby (possibly defunct) Star Ruby (日本語) [Less]

The Summit Engine is a game engine for 2D adventure-action role playing games. It is written in C++, uses the Boost Library as well as the Simple Direct Media Layer. It runs on Windows and Linux natively; it should run on most other systems, even though they have not been tested yet. The ... [More] engine itself is under the MPL; you're allowed to put all your game resources (sprites, sounds, etc.) under the license you wish though. The examples provided with the engine are under the Creative Commons by-sa license. [Less]
