TacOS is an experimental operating system written for the x86 for the purpose of teaching myself about CS theory and application. My intention is to create a completely self contained OS with a ... [More] compliler, shell, GUI, sound, network, etc. Eventually, I want to be able to play music and use the Internet with it. I'm not interested in compatibility with Unix or Windows or any established standards (except TCP/IP or mp3). Maybe eventually I'll port the Java RTE. Maybe.
