The video demonstrates an earlier version of the code, script names and so forth are different - a new video will be made as soon as things on the opensource project settles a bit.
Everything is pluggable and replaceable, the core functions are:
Discovery matching puppet classes based on the presence of classes.txt Discovery using a YAML file of facts about the node Discovery based on existence of an agent or based on node identifier Simple tools to manage the server, call agents, report on facts, discover and search your network for machine Security using a simplistic Pre Shared Key system. Plugins can enable the following features:
Integration with other fact sources such as Reductive Labs Facter Manage services, iptables, packages and many more by means of agents Replace the PSK based security model with one using SSL Certificates Replace the Stomp middleware with one speaking AMQP or other middleware The author maintains a number of plugins in an external project at http://code.google.com/p/mcollective-plugins/.
These plugins are not all under the Apache License so pay close attention to what you download and where you run it. They do not form a core part of the mcollective code. [Less]
