WebScreenie is small qt utility to create snapshot of webpages. It has a command-line interface (CLI) and work is currently in progress for a GUI. Its aim is to remain simple (not become an image editor but rather simply take screenshots) yet very powerful, notably with scripted events and automation.

The hope is to use this space as a home for the various web site layouts I have (and will) develop. This is something of a test/work in progress. Right now I'm not entirely sure how using a CVS to manage a template will work. We'll see.

Bloated code. 4. Broken interaction of different libraries. pirate! solves these problems by existing as ... AboutGlueprint is a dead simple collection of PHP scripts, snippets and random generators designed to make the development, testing and presentation of website prototypes less time consuming and more realistic. It does so by giving you a library of easy to embed functions which randomize ... [More] placeholding text strings and other assets commonly used in large scale web prototypes (e.g. headlines, teasers, table cell data, button labels, etc). You can drop these simple functions in your otherwise static prototype to get a preview of how dynamically generated content will impact the design of your site during the earliest and most critical phase of development and testing - the one that takes place before your work is destroyed by the nerds down in production. BenefitsGet a new view of your prototype every time you reload the page, shortening your test cycle by exposing weak-points or trouble areas in the markup of your design. Centralize control of your prototype's test assets, allowing you to check in an instant how a long word or an un-encoded umlaut impacts everything from a page title, to a submit button. Save time usually wasted filling out your prototype with static dummy text. Seriously. In addition to offering a simple framework for the management and development of your own assets, Glueprint also comes with some simple patterns for building slightly more complex objects out of assets which come in the default library. Some examples of patterns would include an article (which is built on a loop of Glueprint's paragraph string), and a simple, variable length bullet list (built from a loop of item strings). FeaturesLow Set-up Overhead - Designed to work out-of-the-box with most PHP enabled test environments. Zero Interference Policy - Glueprint respects the sanctity of your test environment, so everything is done server side exactly as if your site was connected to a live database, and nothing is inserted into the browser's DOM or done "onload" via scripting. Extendable - Although Glueprint comes standard with some assumptions about how long (and how short) headlines and teasers should be, those assumptions can be easily altered or extended. Instructional - Glueprint includes a growing library of patterns that help you quickly simulate and randomize other commonly needed objects, such as tables, articles and bullet lists. You'll find these handy if you are new to PHP or to fleshing out prototypes using loop code. Who Uses Glueprint?Although intended for designers and front-end developers prototyping large scale media and data driven websites (e.g. newspapers, magazines, portals, intranets), the basic toolbox provided by Glueprint is easily extended and might be useful to anyone involved with the markup and testing of any web based prototype where PHP is available. autoHTML - PHP5 light-weight, no-nonsense, "I won't get in your way" framework. Made for the lone programmer/designer, rapid prototyping. Unlike other frameworks, autoHTML is made in mind for the one-person developer. The ideal user is both programmer and designer, knowledgeable of ... [More] PHP and HTML for whom time costs too much per hour to have to deal with routine; someone looking for assistance but wants complete control of logic and markup. Benefits are: Small memory footprint (current tests show 1/3 usage compared to smarty templates) Extensible Doesn't enforce anything (except for what makes sense) Useful for: Mockups Small scale websites Company intranets [Less]
