WelcomeWelcome to the staging ground of Apocalypse101. This is a coordinated effort to create a browser based game by three college students at Rochester Institute of Technology. The point of the project is to coordinate, design, and build a product which can be offered back to the masses. ... [More] About UsWe are three freshmen at RIT; two of us are in CS and the last is in SE. Soon after we came to RIT we realized that some of the classes will not be as difficult as we wanted. Instead of simply coasting along, we decided to challenge ourselves and create our own projects to work on. After brainstorming, we came up with Apocalypse101. What is Apocalypse101?In short, Apocalypse is a MMOBBTBRTSRPG. In long... Apocalypse101 is going to be an MMO. It will be played online, with thousands of other players. The main game mode will be devoted to this type of play, where players will interact with other players. Apocalypse101 will be a Browser Based, Text Based game. After discussing each members coding strengths, we decided that the best project possible would be an online project using PHP for most of the coding. Apocalypse101 will be based off of that; an online text game that any person can play in the browser. But don't worry, there will be pictures and perhaps some 3D renderings if we can get it to work. Apocalypse101 will be a Real Time Strategy game. Apocalypse101 is really going to be it's own genre, combining RPG and RTS elements. Look at more information in the wiki if you are interested. Apocalypse101 will be an RPG game. At heart, that's what Apocalypse101 is. You get a character, raise his/her levels, get better items, and kill zombies. However you can do all that while being in an Alliance, which increases the depth of the game. What Else? For now, read documentation, and keep track of where the project is headed. If you are an RIT student and want to help, please contact one of the developers. Only otherwise people are allow to add to the code. With that said, wish us luck on our first major project! [Less]
