Icon Inspector

The Regional Computing Centre Erlangen (RRZE) provides and maintains an icon set especially created for IT topics. The set is free to use under the popular creative commons licence (see http://rrze-icon-set.berlios.de). Out of this project arose the need for a tablerized overview of all ... [More] available icons in the set. The icon set is created using Inkscape and its' scalable SVG format. The RRZE Icon Inspector can extract the metadata information directly from the base SVG files and use it to create a verbose and clear compendium of all icons within the set (see http://rrze-icon-set.berlios.de/gallery.html). With this project, you can run a gnome task icon that will check your evolution email, without Evolution running. This means that you only have to configure one program (evolution) and it will use your account info, and stored passwords (you need to allow the keyring to read them always, once.) I ... [More] have only implemented and tested IMAP (including SSL, like that used on gmail) so far. This does what I need, but I am willing to extend it, if other people want to use more Evolution data/email backends. When mail comes in, it will flash, change the tooltip text to tell you how many messages, and optionally popup notify bubbles. When you click it, it will run whatever you like (I use evolution) and when mail comes in, you can also run whatever you like (I have it using gstreamer to play an audio file that's available on ubuntu) To use it, extract it wherever you like, and run evo_status.py. You can add it to your Gnome session to have it startup when gnome does. I'd like to eventually add support for events (that have alert turned on), so you can use it like an alarm clock, without having evolution notifier turned on. I'd also like to add support for address-book info, so you can grab any data from your address book, in the lib. I'd also be interested in implementing the applet for other window managers. Currently it works well (and integrates nicely with) gnome and xfce, but I could see something for AWN being pretty slick. If for no other reason, download this, and use it as an example for python-based gnome status icons, checking mail in python, reading gnome keyring info, saving/retrieving gconf data, messing with evolution, using glade, and as an example of how nice python can be for GUI programming. ADF Tools

ADF tools is a collection of utilities to access Amiga file systems that are stored as file images, e.g. ADF files.
