LoCoBoard Author: Christophe Soares Contact me at: soareschristophe (at) gmail (dot) com, csoares (at) ufp (dot) edu (dot) com This is the Project that I ‘ve been working on for my Master Thesis at Univeristy Fernando Pessoa (www.ufp.pt), Portugal. My project involves re-creating a Low-Cost ... [More] Interactive Whiteboard. So it runs on my laptop with my webcam :) This platform also uses the TUIO protocol to report the coordinates of the detected points (seen by the camera). This fact will allow people to reuse applications that supports TUIO. Hope it will help some programmers to improve their skills in C/C++ and OpenCV (computer vision framework). Next step involve creating any interface using QT framework for interoperability. For now this project is only for the developer’s purposes. If you want to learn more contact me by email. Could take a look to this video on Youtube to understand more deeply the concept: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXeqTDklWKE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wd46S6d-ms0 PS: you will need to have qt framework (http://qt.nokia.com/downloads) and opencv framework (http://opencv.willowgarage.com/wiki/) pre-installed to run the mac os x DMG. If you need to install opencv on mac or linux take a look at (http://opencv.willowgarage.com/wiki/InstallGuide). Christophe Soares © 2009. http://christophesoares.page.vu/ . SUMI @ UFP. [Less]

Since the Wii Remote Controller (Wiimote) can track sources of infrared (IR) light, you can track pens that have an IR led in the tip. By pointing a Wiimote at a projection screen or LCD display, you can create very low-cost interactive whiteboards or tablet displays. Since the Wiimote can track ... [More] upto 4 points, up to 4 pens can be used, hence, it enables to create multi touch smart boards for classrooms. It also works great with rear-projected displays. This whiteboard system can easily be adapted to classrooms, and it enables to create very low cost smart board applications which can be used in education instead of expensive sensor-based smart-boards. Project team has to realize following software and hardware combined project. 1.A device driver that can connect Wiimote/s to a computer via Bluetooth 2.A software that can manage data provided by device driver (x,y coordinates and button press/release actions) for single IR Led inputs 3.A software that can manage data provided by device driver (separated x,y coordinates and buttons’ presses/releases actions) for multi (2) IR Leds inputs 4.A software which able to save all things on the whiteboard to a media (as a graphic file) for future use.
