This project aims to develop a java library to access different bibliographic record types with a uniform interface api. The starting point is some code developed for an opensource opac engine. Because the record interface code part of that project has been used for other projects I decided to ... [More] publish in a different package and as a separate library. The library creates an interface to access, manipulate and compare records from different sources and with different syntaxes (raw text, iso2709, xml, unimarc, marc21, sutrs, ...). [Less]

The Homebrew Mobile Phone Club is a collection of enthusiasts that are building our own mobile phones. Using off the shelf parts with custom enclosures and PCB, we're building one of a kind creations that meet our own requirements. We're attempting to reuse as much software as possible ... [More] , including libgsmc, various linux distros, gstreamer, OSS, etc. But there are a few components we're having to build ourselves. The Jowles user interface, for example, is an application accessed via a cgi-bin interface. It defines a DTD for XML to control and query the state of a GSM module via libgsmc. This allows people to control their mobile device via their web browser. Ideally the web browser in question would be on the phone itself, but if you're debugging, you might just want to plug it in to your PC. [Less]

Transparent messages are the brainchild of Jef Raskin. It’s simply a large and translucent message that’s displayed over the contents of your screen. They fade away when the user takes any action (like typing or moving the mouse). In practice, the message is both noticeable yet unobtrusive. And ... [More] because the message is transparent, you can see what’s beneath it. It’s just humane. -- Aza Raskin http://www.humanized.com/weblog/2006/09/11/monolog_boxes_and_transparent_messages/ Michael Heilemann (http://code.google.com/p/humanmsg/) adapted "Humanized Messages as a javascript-based system for non-model notifications" using jquery. This project translates his efforts and uses prototype (http://prototypejs.org) and script.aculo.us (http://script.aculo.us). [Less]
