on. Support for a wide range of audio players on both Windows and Linux platforms is planned. Currently supported players: Amarok, Rhythmbox, Audacious, XMMS, MPC/MPD, Exaile, Banshee, Quod Libet on Linux. Winamp, Windows Media Player (9+), iTunes, Foobar2000 (incomplete support) on Windows.
FeaturesAllows you to customize the status string with various fields extracted from your media player such as artist, album, track, duration, progress bar, etc. Works around Pidgin's lack of support for MSN status messages by using the nickname instead. Different status messages for various media player states such as Playing, Paused and Stopped. Supports per-account status format customization. Optional Profanity filter for words in the status. Changes in version 0.4.1Added Banshee and Quod Libet support. Fixed bug that caused disable option to not work for MSN. Disabling musictracker for a protocol now clears the previous status set by musictracker. Also works for 'Tools->MusicTracker->Toggle Status Changing' option. Updated Exaile support to work with latest version (0.2.9). Full ChangeLog here. RequirementsPidgin 2.0.0 or above on Linux or Windows. For building from source on Linux: Pidgin development headers and libraries, DBUS-Glib development bindings, PCRE library. Any of the players mentioned above (more players will be supported as requests come in, so please use the Issues facility! Patches are welcome too.) (Note for XMMS/Audacious: Song title needs to be formatted as '%p | %a | %t' in player Preferences. Delimiter choice '|' can be changed in musictracker settings.)
RemarksDistributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License version 2 or higher. MusicTracker was originally started as a fork of Gaim-CurrentTrack (presently known as Pidgin-CurrentTrack) to support media players on Linux, and thus has portions of code adopted from that project. It is not affiliated with Google in any way. [Less]
