O projeto visa a criação de um visualizador para arquivos de texto (trechos de livros, ou livros completos), imagens, e apresentações de slides (no estilo Power Point/OpenOffice.org Presentation), inicialmente desenvolvido para o site EstúdioLivre.org. Vale salientar que estes conteúdos ... [More] DEVEM TER A AUTORIZAÇÃO PRÉVIA DE SEUS AUTORES, se os mesmos não estiverem sob uma licença livre, para que os mesmos possam ser visualizados a partir do Estúdio Livre (Acervo Livre). Os arquivos de texto podem ser tanto arquivos de texto criados em editores como o Microsoft Word e o OpenOffice.org Writer (formatos .doc, .sxw, e .odt), como arquivos Portable Document Format (.pdf). Os arquivos em formato .pdf podem estar usando a tecnologia OCR (um acrônimo para Optical Character Recognition). Já as imagens podem estar nos formatos já conhecidos do grande público, como GIF, JPEG e PNG. Apresentações de slides podem estar tanto sob a extensão .ppt (própria de arquivos gerados no Microsoft PowerPoint), como .odp e .sxi (própria de arquivos gerados no OpenOffice.org Presentation/StarOffice Impress). O projeto já conta com uma série de características (features) iniciais, listadas abaixo: Ao enviar um texto/apresentação/imagem para Estúdio Livre (Acervo Livre), o usuário pode classificar aquele conteúdo por palavras-chave (tags), o que facilitaria a busca pelo conteúdo, por outros usuários; O usuário pode fazer "marcações" (notas) no texto, por exemplo, e compartilhar estas notas com outros usuários; O usuário também tem a opção de marcar estes comentários por tags, e compartilhar com os outros usuários; A ferramenta, no que diz respeito ao processo de leitura de textos pelo usuário, terá uma série de controles que tornarão a leitura um processo agradável e cômodo para o usuário, em resposta às muitas queixas sobre a leitura de textos na tela ser um processo cansativo; [Less]
